I have a little daydream.
In the little daydream, a group of us are together in the perfect place to learn from me about writing memoir and personal nonfiction, explore (if you should so desire), make non-intimidating friends (some of whom become pals for life), eat well, and also engage in intensive rest.
In the little daydream, I am able to connect with you face-to-face in an environment that includes food and lodging, transportation (should you want to explore), and long stretches of time for journaling, writing, and conversing about everything from the considerations of social media today to whether AD was done wrong by in the most recent “Love Is Blind.”
To help make this little daydream happen, I’m sharing a survey to help try and figure out what you want. Because that, in the end, is the most important thing. For full transparency: I need at least 300 people to fill out this survey in order to move forward with planning this retreat. I don’t mean 300 people will end up coming—that would be impossible to manage!—but I do need 300 people’s thoughts in order to understand what your needs are when it comes to a writing retreat with me.
Three randomly chosen people who take the survey will be gifted a three-month subscription to The Unexpected Shape Writing Academy’s Writing Intensive, giving you access to all eight modules in the curriculum and all twelve guest lectures from some of the more brilliant minds working today.
Please, if you can, take a moment to take this survey here. The survey will be available for one week, meaning that I’ll need you to fill it out by March 23. But why not—why not take a few minutes and fill it out now?
Thank you, as always, and I’ll talk to you soon.
I submitted responses, but—full disclosure—for both health and family reasons I can’t travel very far or long at all right now. I answered based on times I have been able to and someday will be able to again, because I love the idea and know you understand how our bodies and circumstances limit our choices.
